Is it 2007 already?

by Marilyn on January 1, 2007

I managed to stay up until midnight last night to see in the new year.? So did Kile, of course.? Harry did too, bless his heart.? He didn’t even struggle, affirming my belief that he’s a night owl (I was suspecting as much already since he tends to sleep in the morning if we give him half a chance).? Liam, however, sacked out shortly after 8pm.? Oh well, left more chips and salsa and shrimp cocktail for the rest of us.? We watched “Superman Returns” which Harry got for Christmas and chilled out until the ball dropped.? We toasted with champagne (sparkling cider for Harry) and then hit the hay.? Happy New Year!? Hopefully, some day soon we’ll get to do something grown up and exciting, but doing a small in-home sort of celebration was fun too.

All of that said, I’m gonna do a meme for ya’ll.? I saw this over at Zoots, and didn’t have a chance to do it yesterday.

1. What did you do in 2006 that you?d never done before?
I went to BlogHer and I got to have a c-section without being totally under general anesthesia which really rocked.

2. Did you keep your new year?s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Sort of.? See, that’s the hard thing about posting your resolutions on your blog.? There’s proof you made them so if you don’t, you can’t pretend you didn’t make them in the first place.? What I did keep: Have a baby, Put in powder bath, Get rid of couch in garage and Expand my business.? What I did not keep: Read “Pride and Prejudice” (I started it, does that count?) and Do *something* with the backyard.? Ah well.? As for next (this?? I’m so confused) year, I’m still thinking about it.? I think I’ll have more goals and less resolutions.? There’s definitely going to have to be some changes, one way or another.

Harry, for being the absolute most awesome big brother ever.? I was expecting at least a little jealousy but there has been NONE.
