Ever feel like you’re a day late and a dollar short? I swear, that’s so me all the time these days. I am constantly feeling like I’m late to the party. Or in some cases, I forget to show up at all. But I also feel as if some very important decisions have been made without my knowing about them. Such as: Why is Easter so early this year? And if Easter is April 8, we must have had Ash Wednesday and Mardi Gras already and where was I when that happened? And WHY is my son’s spring vacation next week?? Not even at Easter-time at all. Who doesn’t go to school on St. Patrick’s Day, anyhow? That’s where all the fun is! What point is there in wearing green if you’re gonna be at home all day? Because you know, I’m just gonna pinch him anyhow, green or not. The poor kid already misses out on Halloween and Valentine’s Day at school since he’s on break those times. The kid is getting seriously ripped off in the holiday at school department.
And just today I found out that Daylight Savings Time starts next weekend. WTF? Seriously?? Isn’t it a little early for such nonsense? According to my loving husband who is not a day late and dollar short, it’s three weeks early this year. AND, it’ll be three weeks late in ending. Because some dingus decided that we need six more weeks total of Daylight Savings Time. Why wasn’t I told about this? I’m so not prepared to lose an hour of sleep.
I swear, no one else had better try to pull something on me because it may just cause me to lose whatever tenuous grip on reality I’ve managed to hold onto.

Okay. I confess I knew about Easter being early this year, but only because I’m due the day after. But this Daylight Savings Time news is brand new to me. WHAT?? I’m not ready to spring ahead an hour. And why do we need to have DST anyway? It used to be necessary because most of the country was made up of farmers who needed the extra light during winter. I know we still have farmers, cuz hey, I eat. But we also have automated machines and electricity! Why can’t be pick one, spring ahead/fall back (whatever) and STAY that way??

The people who made this change also didn’t consider that they were creating a whole new Y2K kind of issue but only allowing computer companies about 6 months to solve the issue? I’ve made sure our computers are fully updated with Microsoft patches, since our computers instinctively know when to change the time for DST.
so FUN!
