Maybe there’s a twelve step program…

by Marilyn on March 10, 2007

So in case you haven’t noticed (if you’re reading this via a feed reader like Google, then you probably haven’t noticed), I’ve changed my site’s design.  Again.  I know, I know.  I need to stop it, really.  But I promise, I’ll keep this one for at least four months.  Three, at the outside.  Deal?

So what do you think?  I wanted something that looked relatively simple but that included some high-tech features, such as AJAX commenting and the like.  And while I’m having difficulties getting the rolling archive to work (dang it), the rest seems okay for now.  I don’t know why IE 7 has to always pop up those dumb error messages.  Rest assured, I know they’re there.  I don’t know how it looks in IE 6 since I don’t have IE 6 on any computers around here.  But I’m hoping it looks fine.

I wanted something where I could implement various Flickr photos in the header.  This design sort of accomplishes that.  I also wanted a very “springy” look. I’m still fiddling with it, but I got tired of playing on the test site and wondering how it would work on my giant mess of a blog.

In the meantime, play around and get used to it.  On the comments page, the comments and the textarea are waaaaay at the bottom of the page.  Goofy, I know, but they’re designed to be below the sidebars.  I’m thinking I need to shorten the sidebars.  You can either scroll to the bottom or there’s some links just below the post that you can click on that’ll take you the appropriate places.

Anyhow, do you like it??

Ooh, I do like it. It’s a cool font used for the header and the post title. And the thumbnails and icons are cool too. Makes me want to go and redesign my site now… (thanks a lot…) ;-)
