I feel encouraged. I was chicken yesterday and let Liam take his naps in our bed, but Kile put him to bed last night around 8pm in the crib and (drumroll please) he fell asleep. Yeah, I know! It was very exciting. And it felt VERY strange to get in bed without Liam right there. Luckily, I didn’t have to worry about it too long because the stinker woke up at 12 or so and was quite upset. We’d gone to bed at, oh, 11. So one hour. BUT, if you count from when he first went to bed (and I sure do), he slept in there for four hours. That’s pretty good!
Kile took pity on me and went in to deal with him the rest of the night. And by deal with him, I mean he let Liam sleep in the guest room bed with him, just as I had done the night before. Baby steps, ya’ll.
The GOOD NEWS is, however, he has taken both his naps in his crib in his very own room today. He didn’t go down as easy as maybe he would have otherwise, but he did go down. And while he (so far) slept better this morning than he has this afternoon, I’m greatly encouraged by this progress. I’m thinking tonight, we (and by we I mean me, because it sorta IS my turn) may try harder to get him to stay in the crib. How exactly I’m going to manage that, I don’t know. But it sure sounds good on paper, doesn’t it?
