So last night actually went pretty well. I was as surprised as anyone else, frankly. Of course, it would be a (relatively) easy night the night that Kile has volunteered to take over and let me get some sleep. We ended up putting him down in his own room but not in his crib. No, we were far more clever than that. We put him in the bed in his room. He’s so used to sleeping in our bed, with pillows on either side, that I figured that would be more comfortable for him. And it worked. The child slept in there until 3am.
It would have been even better had we gone to bed a little early, but there was a Christopher Titus comedy special on Comedy Central last night and I loves me some Titus. We just couldn’t resist. So it was more like 12 before we went to sleep. But still. 3 am is pretty good. At that point, Kile went in and slept with the wee fella. I slept blissfully alone until I woke up close to 9am this morning. Woot! Kile and Liam slept some more, until nearly 10:30. And, according to Kile, the night went pretty smoothly. Liam wasn’t too fussy and slept pretty well. I wonder if Kile would have been able to return to our room to sleep, had he thought of it, after feeding him. Maybe. Maybe not.
We have added nebulizer treatments to the infants decongestant and cough medicine we’d been giving him and I think that helped make a big difference. He’s been sleeping a lot, but has also been very clingy, wanting me to hold him while he sleeps. Still. Eh, I don’t have anything better to do.
