Saturdays can be random too

Posted on April 14th, 2007

Once again, I find myself with a number of things to talk about but no one subject could possibly make a meaningful blog post. You know what that means! Bullets!

  • Liam, bless his baby heart, slept through the freakin’ night last night. NO FOOLIN’. Since it was Kile’s night on duty (of course it was!), he woke up around 3 and went in to Liam’s room to check on him. The kid was out cold so he wisely chose not to interfere and left him be. And Liam slept until nearly 8 am this morning. Thankfully, I’m not on duty tonight either since we decided that if Liam sleeps through, the person whose night it is remains on duty until they actually have to get up with him. Makes sense, right? Hopefully, though, we’ll see a repeat performance tonight.
  • Harry has decided he wants to learn how to ride a two-wheeler. His best friend from school rides a two-wheeled bike and Harry thinks its past time. And, it probably is. Unfortunately, our house is situated on a hill and our backyard remains woefully unlandscaped so there aren’t a whole of flat places to practice riding on. Kile took him up to the top of the cul-de-sac and worked with him there. He had him right with the training wheels on for a while, told him that he’d have better balance if he learned to ride a little faster (Harry peddles at the speed of slow). And, just moments ago, Harry came running in to report: “I was riding around and I thought Papa was still holding on but he wasn’t but I thought he was. And it wasn’t too hard either!” I’m very proud. :)
  • Rain today, snow tomorrow… what the heck happened to spring?
  • No, seriously. What happened to it? Cuz I remember some 80 degree days a couple weeks ago and now there was SNOW on the ground on Thursday. That just ain’t right.
  • In case any of you were actually wondering, no, I am not pregnant. The period showed up yesterday and everyone sighed in relief. Except for maybe Kile who actually seemed a little disappointed. The masochist.
  • Harry and I both agree: We need a Dodge Avenger. The commercial we saw showed a cup holder that both heats as well as cools. How awesome is that?? I don’t know how Harry would benefit from such a feature but when he saw it he said, “We need that car.” Totally.
  • We may have finally reached an end to the never-ending “Do the dishes/Take out the trash” nagging around here. I don’t like to do dishes, so they tend to pile up. While Kile doesn’t like to take out trash, causing it to also pile up. So today, he actually said, “I’ll do the dishes if you’ll take out the trash.” For real? Because I can totally get on board with that. Now, we’ll see if the dishes actually get done any more than they already were. But at least the pressure is off me.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, ya’ll!
