Does anyone else do this? I’ve always been a rather light sleeper, a trait that Liam has inherited much to my chagrin. And part of that includes difficulty falling asleep. I have a hard time turning my brain off at night, moreso after I’ve had caffeine a little too close to bedtime. It always drives me nuts that Kile can be snoring moments after his head hits the pillow while I lay there literally willing my brain to shut down. Sometimes, as I’m laying in bed waiting for the sleep to come, I’ll blog. Ideas for posts will creep into my head and I’ll compose them there in the dark. And nearly always what I compose in my head is the most brilliant thing I have ever written in all my life. I did this last night, composing a scathing diatribe against the postal system. Oh yes. The postal system. I know, but in the middle of the night last night it sounded like the best idea I’d ever had. And the phrases that formed in my mind were pure blogging gold. I’d of course write this post out first thing in the morning. That was the only thing that calmed my fevered brain to settle down and let me sleep at last.
Please tell me I’m not the only one who does that? Because I feel pretty silly, now that the light of day has made my “brilliant” ideas seem lackluster at best. Is this a sign that I need to shut the laptop and step away? Because if it is, I don’t want to hear it. I just want to hear I’m not the only blogging dork out there.

In a word? YES. hahahahahahaha
Of course, the post is BRILLIANT. That’s the part that drives you cuh-razy. I call it the Seinfeld Syndrome (remember that episode where he had thought of the PERFECT joke, wrote it down in his sleep, and couldn’t read the scribbles later?).

Of course - some of my comments are occasionally brilliant too - oh, if only the world could see how deep yet witty the inside of my head is as times…

Holy crap. I totally do this too. I think it’s contributed to my insomnia occasionally…
