There’s several things I could talk about today, including how I’m surviving “vbs” this week (answer: better than I hoped but still just barely) or how Liam’s separation anxiety is both charming me and freaking me out. But I’m not going to. At least not yet. No, today’s entry is inspired by the post over at Mamapop about Paris’ release from prison. I know, I know. I’m sick of hearing about her too. I’m also sick of all the media attention this spoiled little socialite has garnered. Seriously, is there NOTHING more important going on in the world right now? Because I’m pretty sure there is. Anyhow, what caught my attention is the handwritten note that Paris sent TMZ to thank them for their accurate reporting of her case. (Yeah, I don’t know either.)

If you notice, in her rather childish hand, she writes her “a’s” in two different methods. One is the more common cursive “a” and the other is a more fancy typeface style “a” (you’ll the examples of both to the left and to the right). Now, when I was younger I wrote my “a’s” like the one on the left just like about 90% of the world. But when I got into my twenties, I decided I wanted to try writing the other style “a” (like the one you see on the right). So I practiced a couple times and then made a conscious effort to write all my “a’s” from that point out in that particular style. And you know what? It worked. Now I write the fancier “type-face” style “a” unconsciously and I actually have to force myself to write “a’s” the other way from time to time. The only exception is probably my signature which is just shy of illegible anyhow.
My point here? I’m not entirely sure I have one. But I saw that a commenter or two singled out her inconsistancies. I may like to find fault with Paris as much as the next person, but I can’t fault her here. For all I know, she’s trying to “train” herself to write her “a’s” in one particular style just like I did. No, what I can fault her for are the “i’s” dotted with hearts. That’s just inexcusable.
