My love of the minivan has been well documented on this site. I realize they aren’t for everyone and that some people just love the SUV the way that I love the minivan. I can respect that. So maybe you can respect my love and understand for a moment why I am in the throes of deep, passionate love involving the brand new 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan.
Recently, Kile and I have realized that our precious, precious van is 4 years old. I’ve never owned a vehicle this long without wanting to drive it off a cliff and claim the insurance money. Well, technically, we’ve had our white van since 2001, but it hasn’t been my primary vehicle in four years so it doesn’t really count. We also realized that it meant we would probably be needing to look for a new vehicle sometime in the next year or so. We got to thinking about it and decided that perhaps new style of “crossover” vehicles (much like the Ford Freestyle or the Chrysler Pacifica) might be the best fit. Not a van, more a car and perhaps better gas mileage. But we wouldn’t be forsaking the wonderful seating capacity that we have come to love in our minivan. Problem solved, no?
That is, until, I looked on the Dodge website and saw this. And that was it. It was over. Forget the crossover, it was all about the van. All I had to do was read through the laundry list of new features and drool over the gorgeous photos and I was hopelessly hooked. I have to have a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan. That’s all there is to that. “Swivel ‘n Go” seating?? Retractable window shades? Power “Stow ‘n Go” third row bench? Do I need to go on? I don’t think I do. If you still don’t believe me, watch this video below. Then maybe, maybe you’ll understand my adoration and obsession. I want this van. I need this van.
This is me. I'm a thirtysomething stay at home mom to three kids. For years I was a stay at home mom to one kid and trying very hard to have more. It took a LONG time (ie: 6 1/2 years), but finally Liam arrived and charmed us with his blue eyes and ginormous, round head. Then we got a shock: I was pregnant again and this time it was a GIRL. Our hearts and home are full at last and now that we're done having babies, we get to relax (snort) and watch them grow (not too fast now, you hear?).
