Don’t you hate when time slips by and suddenly you find yourself staring down a barrel you thought was months off? That’s sort of how I feel this week. My barrel just happens to be Liam’s first birthday. And it’s a mere three days away. See, that’s the thing. Last year, the 4th of July heralding the fact that Liam would be born in only three days would have been about the most welcome news I could have ever hoped to know. The sooner the better, even! This year? I want to put it off as long as I can. And maybe that putting it off is what has made the time creep up on me so bad. Because believe me, the last thing i was expecting this week was the 4th of July. I’m sure that sounds silly to you, but there you have it.
So, we have a national holiday today. We don’t really have much planned and we’re trying to conserve fundage for Liam’s birthday (in THREE DAYS *sob*). There’s been some talk of painting the kitchen which is something that needs to happen eventually. I’d also be pretty pleased if the lawn saw itself mowed. Cuz DAMN. We could hide small dogs and children out there right now. (You think I’m joking, don’t you?)
I imagine we’ll at least try to catch the fireworks. We’re pretty sneaky about catching fireworks, we have a “secret place” that we can go to at the last minute and avoid a goodly amount of crowds. You gotta at least TRY to see fireworks on the 4th of July, right? Anyone else out there have more exciting plans than I do? I don’t think I’d be hard to capture that particular title, actually.

Nooo!!! Preserve the baby! Don’t let him turn 1!!!! He’s oh so cute, though! Too bad he’s not a little bit older, then maybe he’d be into having a “Lawn Mowing Party.” It’d be worth a try!
PS I really LOVE the look of your blog. Who designed it for you?
