So my bag is all packed (again) and I’m in the process of securing everyone else’s things as well. My husband is still at work because… well, it’s a long story. But he has promised he would leave at 11am sharp and that’s a little less than 45 minutes from now. So I’d better make this quick. I still need to take down the pack n’ play, gather some of Liam’s toys together, clean and fold down the high chair and round up the diapers, wipes, lil’ swimmers, etc. Harry packed his bag rather dutifully yesterday evening so he’s all ready to go. Never fear, I “checked his work” and all was well. I only made a couple substitutions and additions. That reminds me, I need to remember his sleeping bag. I think he’s going to be sleeping on the floor in my parents bedroom again.
I’m also going to put together some sandwiches for us to eat on the road. That way we’ll avoid having to spend any extra dough at some awful place like McDonalds. Though I imagine we’ll grab some drinks at the Quik Stop when we get gas on our way out of town. My first priority is getting down there as soon as we can. I’m not a huge fan of car travel, I think it’s pretty tedious. And I’m hoping we don’t run into too much traffic. Lucky for us, most of the traffic should be going the opposite direction from us. Why, you ask? (you are asking, aren’t you?) It’s “Hot August Nights” next week here in Reno and the festivities sort of unofficially begin this weekend. It’s a pretty big draw around these parts, actually, but we never seem to be in town when it happens.
We’re going to be staying at my parents house. Packed in like a bunch of sardines, no doubt. We’ll have to see how well Liam sleeps in the pack n play with us sleeping in the very same room. He’s such a light sleeper that it’s bound to be… interesting. My parents have DSL so I should be able to at least check email and read blogs, if not write email and post to mine. I expect to be back either Monday night or Tuesday morning. I’m guessing on Tuesday. Be good while I’m gone! Don’t forget to leave the place as you found it.

This is me. I'm a thirtysomething stay at home mom to three kids. For years I was a stay at home mom to one kid and trying very hard to have more. It took a LONG time (ie: 6 1/2 years), but finally Liam arrived and charmed us with his blue eyes and ginormous, round head. Then we got a shock: I was pregnant again and this time it was a GIRL. Our hearts and home are full at last and now that we're done having babies, we get to relax (snort) and watch them grow (not too fast now, you hear?).
