Friday and bullets go so well together

by Marilyn on August 17, 2007

Horray!  It’s Friday!  We’ve officially made it to the weekend!  We’ve got quite the weekend ahead of us.  Two birthday parties to enjoy, a soccer game and the hope of an extra hour of sleep in the morning (Liam says, “Don’t count on it.”).  But seeing as how we’re on the precipice of the weekend, my work ethic has left without forwarding address.  So I’m going to give you some bullets to read because they’re easier to work with than an actual entry that’s about actual “stuff”.

  • I may have given a false impression of Beetoe in yesterday’s post.  I wanted to clarify: She’s anti-social with other dogs.  But not with people.  She loves people.  She wants to BE people.  Sitting on laps all day long is her idea of the ideal day.  Having to sleep in her kennel at night instead of on our bed (under the covers, no less) is tantamount to torture.  So yeah.  Doesn’t like dogs.  Loves people.  Make a note of it.
  • I’m kinda glad Spongebob Squarepants is on all the time because it’s about the only cartoon I can bear to watch these days.
  • I’m actually a little pleased with the way “Big Brother 8″ is going.  Of course, my answer may change after Sunday’s show but for now, I see only good possibilities.
  • It’s a half day at school today.  I’m sure the school only does this to torture us mothers.  Instead of only having to entertain toddlers all day long, now we have to worry about the older kids as well.  And all their griping and whining.  Not that my darling child would ever do such a thing.  *snort*
  • I really do prefer the Johnny Depp “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” movie to the Gene Wilder “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” version.  Please tell me that doesn’t make me a bad person.
  • Anyone want to give us any money?  Please?  Pretty please?  With sugar on top?  My hosting is due.  (Note: if this site suddenly goes POOF in the next couple of days, that’s why.)
  • Harry’s teacher sent home an urban legend yesterday.  Obviously, she didn’t know it was an urban legend.  It was about some astronomical phenomenon that he was really excited to see because this child is SO INTO planets and the universe and everything.  He was CRUSHED when I had to tell him it wasn’t true.  Made me pretty mad at that teacher for not double checking her facts.

I’m outtie for the day.  Or at least the morning.  Who am I kidding?  I might be back in an hour.
