Even though we sorta knew, I’m still reeling from last night’s positive pregnancy test. I’m trying to refrain from asking, “How did this happen?” because DUH. But still, I guess this makes me a big fat liar when it comes to te whole “not ovulating” thing. Because apparently I DID. And rumors are already flying around that I got pregnant at BlogHer and Zoot is the father. Shoot, I guess if I can magically ovulate and conceive then Zoot can be the father, right? I mean ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

First off, I want to thank everyone who sent me such nice emails after my little pity party post yesterday. Your uplifting words of support really mean a lot to me. It’s easy in “this game” (otherwise known as “motherhood”) to feel like you’re alone and it’s nice to know that there’s wonderful people out there who are there to listen and understand and pat you on the back when you need it most.

I feel like now that I know WHY I’ve been such a hormonal mess, that I might be better able to combat it. Kind of like the knowledge that I’m pregnant is the hormones kryptonite. Now that I know, the hormones have less power over me. Doesn’t mean the hormones won’t be here trying to drive me nuts for the next nine months or so, but I won’t feel so overwhelmed by them either. It’s just that I’ve never had hormones like these before, even when pregnant. I’ve already had it speculated at me that this could mean it’s a girl this time. To which I’ll say, “I won’t hold my breath.”

We told Harry this morning and he was definitely excited. The first thing he asked was if it’s a girl this time. He really wants a girl. I don’t know if he knows WHY he wants it to be a girl, or if he just thinks that’s what it should be. I think we’d all be just as happy if it’s another boy. But we are running low on boy names around here. Just sayin’.

Right now the focus is on keeping this baby alive and well in there. And maybe a nap or two wouldn’t hurt in the meantime.
