Sometimes the internets rock

by Marilyn on October 4, 2007

You all blew me away yesterday with your fantastic commenting.  It felt like Christmas or my birthday, since nearly every time I opened up my email yesterday I had a little comment to read and enjoy and hold close to my heart.  As far as I’m concerned, that’s just fantastic.  I love comments so.

And I have to admit my fingers are little sore today from all the mad, mad commenting I did myself.   I actually accomplished what I wanted to do and left a comment on every blog I visited yesterday (with the exception of one, sorry Shawna!).  I’ve never left so many comments in my life.  And you know what?  It was fun.  Now, I doubt I’ll keep up with it on a daily basis.  I’m far more likely to retreat back into the cozy warmth of my Google Reader but maybe I won’t be as likely to hide when I feel maybe I could say something and add to the conversation.

Or maybe not.  But it was nice day in the blogosphere, wasn’t it?  And in the world at large.  After all, justice has prevailed and Britney is still sans-custody of her children.  That there means the world hasn’t gone completely nuts and there is still logic out there.

Other small items of note:

  • Harry is a freakin’ genius ya’ll.  We always like to think our children are the smartest thing to come down the pipe, but until someone with an unbiased mind backs us up on it, we are left to wonder if we’re just being indulgent.  Harry got his report card for this first grading period and it was FANTASTIC.  The child reads at a 7th or 8th grade level, people.  In case you’ve forgotten, he’s in the 2nd grade.  He’s my special boy! (said a la Dr. Evil in “Austin Powers”)
  • “Pushing Daisies” premiered last night and I really got a hoot out of it.  I’m definitely going to keep watching that one.  It was funny and interesting to watch and the premise is fantastic.  I cut “The Bionic Woman” out of rotation but kept “Life” in (duh).  Didn’t watch last night’s episode yet though, it’s on the DVR waiting for a free hour somewhere along the way.  I was tired, ya’ll!
  • Speaking of which, sleeping is IMPOSSIBLE.  I hate it.  I feel like a whale already and when I wake up in the morning I swear even my internal organs hurt.  So much for feeling rested, right?  This better end soon, at least for a while.  I deserve a month or two off of feeling like doo doo.
  • It might snow tonight/tomorrow morning.  Seriously!  What is this world coming to?  I like it (because I’m a freak who likes winter and winter weather), but it’s definitely strange.

Okay, I’m gonna bug out.  Thanks for all the comment love yesterday.  You guys are mah-velous!

How, I ask you, is it possible that you’re getting snow in Reno, yet up here in Canada it’s 25 degrees? (That’s 77 Fahrenheit for you States folks.) Weather is going mad. MAD I TELL YOU!

I like commenting, but I realize that it isn’t everyone’s “Thing”. Google Reader does make it easy to stay quiet, doesn’t it?

Go Harry!!!! I would make him a cake or something, but by the time it got to Reno it wouldn’t be good anymore. Maybe he’ll get a Halloween care package here in a few weeks.
And please can you send some of the cold weather my way? (Can you believe I just asked for that? Me, the original hot weather girl! I MUST be going crazy!) Elizabeth is growing like a freaking weed and she has all these cute clothes to wear and I’m scared she’ll grow out of them before she gets a chance and some of the cutest ones are for when it’s a little bit colder. Woman, you HAVE to have a girl this time because I have some cute hand me downs!
