More About Me Monday

by Marilyn on November 12, 2007

It’s Veteran’s Day here in the states and while a lot of people don’t have today off, we do.  Well, more specifically, Kile and Harry do.  Harry because the schools do what the federal government tells them to do and Kile because he works for the state and just about as good as working for the federal government.  And because they have the day off, so do I.  That’s how it works, ya’ll.  I’m sure you’ll find that in a rule book somewhere.

Anyhow, like I’ve seen on some other fantastic blogs this week, there’s a bout of Q&A going around.  (Pardon me if there’s one or two that I’ve missed, it’s still technically the weekend here and my brain is on vacation.)  And I’ve wanted to do something similar.  But I’m afraid.  What am I afraid of?  That I’ll put out a call for questions and NO ONE will ask any.  Let’s face it.  The comments don’t come rolling in on this here blog.  Plus, I’m sure there isn’t a whole lot that I haven’t already talked about that people care to know.  BUT, I’m going to open myself up to humiliation here and ask for some questions.  I’ll start answering later in the week (I’m hoping for Wednesday, depending on how many questions I get between now and then).

PLEASE?!  If they’re really good questions, I may just add them to my about page where I list a bunch of FAQ’y type answers.   Don’t let me down here, ya’ll.  I’m counting on you.

I can think of a bunch of random questions for ya —
What is your favorite kind of chocolate - milk, dark, or white?
Do you like the changes George Lucas made to the DVD versions of SW Episodes 4-6?
If someone were to knit you a scarf, what color would you want it to be?
What is your favoite part of the Thanksgiving meal?
What is your favoirte board game?
If you won the lottery, what would your first shopping splurge item be?
If you could go anywhere for a fancy schmancy vacation, where would you go?

Okay, I think that’s enough. I could think of more. But, that’s because I wonder random things about people ALL the time. I think I know the answers to some of those, but I thought I’d ask, just to make sure you haven’t changed your mind.

Sorry if you answered some of these before I started reading, but here goes:
Have you ever worn braces?
What was the reason for the first trip you ever had to take to the Emergency dept of the hospital?
Do you have a favoured “cause” (like the environment, or women’s rights or something) and do you support (if even only morally) a specific charity?
Where’s the most exotic place you’ve ever been? How many states have you physically been in, even if it was only passing through?
Do you prefer boxers or briefs on men? What about swim trunks vs. speedos?
When you were little, let’s say, under 10, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Did you think dirt/worms/frogs/etc. were icky when you were a kid, or did you love to get dirty?
Comfort or fashion? Where do you draw the line as going too far in your preferred direction?
Practical gifts or fun gifts? To give? To receive?
What’s the relationship you’ve had to work hardest for? Is it still in existence? Why or why not?

Man, I’m liking this brainstorming. I should answer some of these myself when I’m stuck for material!

In your heart of hearts, do you want this baby to be a girl?

How many children would you have if it was easy to have as many as you wished?

What was your worst heartbreak and how did you get over it?

That’s weird - how did that link get into my comment? I didn’t put it there…
