So there you have it. The Date. The Big One. The Birthday To End All Birthdays.

My OB called today with the notes the perinatologist wrote up for her after my appointment with him on Friday. As anticipated, he had suggested a c-section date between 37 and 38 weeks and she was all for it. She wanted to know what date I wanted. Su-wheet! Well, of course I mentioned the 21st as the date I liked (and gave her my reasons why) and she was agreeable except for the minor detail that she would be out of the office on that day. Doh! How did the 20th sound? Well, I think it sounds just peachy, now that you mention it. It’s still before the 23rd, which is the important thing. It’s also “pre-weekend” which is nice and convenient. She said she would write that down on the schedule. So I’m left thinking that this baby will be born on March 20th. Boo-yah, baby! We have a birthday!

Of course, now that I’ve had time to think and Google, I realize this makes the baby a Pisces by the skin of her teeth. Not that I put a lot of store into such things. But I am a little relieved to dodge the “Aries” bullet. Just like we dodged the “Leo” bullet with Liam. (Nothing against those signs, but they are “fire signs” which are notoriously hotheaded which we do NOT need around here) (FYI: I am a “fire sign” myself) Which got me to thinking. I looked it up and guess what? Scorpio, Cancer and Pisces are ALL in the same “group”; they are all “water signs”. *shiver* Creepy, huh? Because Harry is a Scorpio and Liam is a Cancer.

Of course, this is all a big ol’ load of bupkiss, but it’s entertaining to be sure. And at the core of it? I’m just so dang happy to have a c-section date. A date that I can start counting down to and counting on. And I’m so happy that she will be born before the 23rd. With today being Mardi Gras and Lent starting tomorrow and all, I feel like it’s not just a countdown to Easter, but a countdown to this baby being in my arms. Can I get an “Amen”?
