We’ve been home for about an hour now and I’m still just recovering from the exertions of being out and about all day. I sat in my chair when we got home and have yet to get up. Because my legs? They are The Sore. As is my belly. And my feet. Generally, everything in my lower half is The Sore. Still, it was worth it. I feel like I’ve had a fullfilling day.
We went to MOPS first thing this morning. It has been about two months since we’ve had a meeting so everyone there was pretty happy to be back. I was wearing my fabulous maternity belt but discovered partway through the speaker’s presentation that it was making me feel like, well, like passing out. So I excused myself and took it off. That made me feel much better. Other than that, I had a great time. One gal who sits at my table said to me as I entered the room, “You haven’t gotten any bigger at all!”. GAH! I sure HOPE I have! Other than that, all the inquiries were along the lines of, “So, is it really a girl?” Yep. It sure is!
After that we had some lunch at Mimi’s. Which meant we squeaked in on the breakfast menu and I was able to order my favorite triple-berry stuffed french toast. That meal is to die for and Liam loves to eat the blueberries off my french toast. He also drank himself into a stupor over their chocolate milk. That child LOVES chocolate milk. Some kids, it makes them hyper. With Liam, it sort of mellows him out. We headed to Sam’s Club next to pick up some more king sized pillows since we’ve decided we rather enjoy them and Sam’s has them at such an unbeatable price. We noticed they had some new down comforters in stock, this time larger and a heavier weight. They were beyond the right price so Kile snatched on up. We also checked out their Wii gear and were happy to find plenty of controllers and cool games, for when the time comes.
I had an OB appointment after that. Liam conked out in the van on the way there and we used the new stroller to wheel him in and were able to recline him and everything so he slept clear until the end of my appointment. So far, so good. Everything looks peachy, though I’ve gained 4 pounds and I’m horrendously ashamed by that fact. (Surely, I cannot blame the Klondike bars I’ve been eating lately.) I was measuring about 33 weeks, which is nice. Still, I’ll be surprised if this baby is over 6 pounds when born. We discussed the c-section date some more (it’s still the 20th!) and I scheduled my non-stress tests. I’m only having one a week this time, it would appear, which is fine by me. I don’t know if they’ll be incorporating the ultrasound like last time or not. I know I’ll feel better if they do, but if they don’t I’m sure there’s a good reason. So starting two weeks from today, I’ll be going in for hour-long appointments including a non-stress test. Woo hoo! My last will be the day before the c-section which is FINE BY ME. I’ll probably need a little extra reassurance right about then.
After that, we stopped by Home Depot so I could pick up some paint chips. We may not get to do all we’d like with Evie’s room, but I figure at the very least, we can paint it. I just need to compare these off our wallpaper border and the bedding set to see which one goes the best. Last, we stopped at Walmart to pick up a few things, including my thyroid prescription and some Valentine’s gifts for each other. We looked at the crib mattresses but for whatever reason Kile chose not to buy one. He will soon, I hope. But we have established that Walmart has the least expensive mattress. You know, whatever THAT is worth.
So now we’re back home. And I, for the record, am beat. So I’m just gonna sit back and “enjoy” the Braxton-Hicks as they wrack my uterus. Ugh.
