And here it was a three day weekend! Shoot, this should have felt like a long, luxurious weekend full of relaxation and warm moments. And now, here it is, 7 o’clock at night the last day of the weekend and I’m left here going, “Hu-wha??”
I guess the whole cabin really disrupted the feel of the weekend. And I don’t get why it should have because, dude, that was going to be a fun time. Still, I felt like yesterday should have been Saturday and today Sunday. That would mean tomorrow was Monday and I would have a whole ‘nother day to luxuriate. Alas.
It was weird, not having Kile here last night. Since Liam was in bed by the time I turned in, it was just me and the dogs. The house was very quiet. It was a little spooky. Still, I was far too tired to really care. I think I fell asleep fairly quickly, to be honest. I didn’t STAY asleep, but it wasn’t so bad. Liam had a bad cough in the night that needed tending to and then Kile’s alarm kept going off this morning which just made the Pup downright psychotic. Every time it went off, she’d pop above the covers, all excited and ready for the day. I’d have to shove her back underneath and tell her, “No, not yet.” Not by a long shot. Finally, at 7:45, I gave it up and we all got out of bed.
It was still noon before Kile made it back here and then we hit the stores. We didn’t get nearly the number of things I wanted us to get (namely a crib mattress), but we got another Wii remote and some diapers and that’s what is important, I suppose. When we got home, the package from Amazon.com was sitting on our doorstep. It was, my friends, the Wii.
It’s pretty much a whole lot of fun. It’s hard to get used to how a Wii works when you’ve gotten used to an Xbox 360, I’ve found. There are features that aren’t maybe as intuitive as I would have expected. But in other areas, it is insanely easy to know what to do. I’d say that overall, so far, we are VERY impressed. It’s so much fun. I can’t wait to get more games for it and really start having fun. And I have to admit that I am looking forward to Wii Fit coming out this Spring because I’m hoping that maybe (just maybe) it can help me shed some of these post-partum pounds. Hey, something has to.
So yeah. It has taken me a whole hour to write that inane drivel. GAH.
Yeah, if there was ever any evidence regarding me needing more weekend time, then that’s it right there. Holy moses.
