So my shower was today. My shower, as you all well know, was great anticipated and fretted over. Why? Because I am an enormous nerd who needs constant reassurance, that’s why. Again, something most of you probably already knew. Yet you put up with me anyhow. I love you guys for that.
The shower went well, despite my worries. I was actually surprised to see people there when I arrived. You mean… people actually LIKE me and wanted to SHOW UP? How does that happen?? This gal lives in an awesome part of town. And her house was gorgeous. If it hadn’t been snowing to beat the band, I’m sure the view out of her windows would have yielded the entire valley before my eyes. Alas, it was snowing. It started just before we left the house; the big chunky flakes that say “Yeah, I’m gonna stick around for a while.” Still, it was very picturesque even with the snow. And this gal? OMG, I totally heart her. She really went above and beyond the duties of a shower hostess. Everything was just perfect and my mind was blown at every turn. This was by far the fanciest shower I’ve ever been too, much less had thrown for me. I mean, seriously, would you look at this cake?
But just because it was fancy doesn’t mean it wasn’t a lot of fun. We all probably did more chatting and laughing than anything else. I really had a great time and I’m still just in awe of it. I got some adorable girly gifts that I still can’t quite believe that I get to actually use with a real live here baby in less than a month. Most of the clothes are 3-6 months and up so it will be a while before I get to use and enjoy them (dang small babies of mine anyhow!) but they are extremely adorable and I think I want to curl up in bed with a few of them.
Mostly I just feel really honored. I had a great afternoon and a great time. I think I’m going out in style here, this being my last baby and last baby shower. I couldn’t have planned it better myself and that’s the God’s honest truth. Thank goodness for such wonderful friends.
