First of all, you have to realize that when the majority of my days involve me not leaving the house and very often not even getting dressed, a simple trip into the Outside World is a major happening. It’s a slackerish existence, but someone has to do it. So when I say that today is a busy day, it is a busy day for me, but the rest of you are probably going, “Is that it??” So, you know, shut it.
Kile took Pup (aka Holly aka the Dog Formerly Known as Poptart) with him this morning, intending to drop her off at the vet’s office on his way to work. Yep, that’s right people. We are finally getting the darned thing SPAYED. And, can I just say, IT’S ABOUT FRIGGIN’ TIME! It had to happen and the more time that went by, the more twitchy I was getting about her potentially going into heat again. I just can’t deal with that kind of stress, not with a new baby in the house. We ended up picking the vet’s office nearest our house, even though I think it’s more pricey than some of the other options we priced out. But you can’t beat the convenience factor and this way I won’t have to run clear across town to pick her up this afternoon and it was super easy for Kile to drop her off on his way in. Didn’t have to go out of his way at all, which in this neck of the woods, is something to appreciate.
So yeah, I have to pick her up this afternoon, between 3 and 4. As it happens, Harry gets out of school at 3:30. Normally he would get on the school bus and be home about ten minutes to four. That’s pushing it rather close. So I’m going to pick him up at school this afternoon and we’re going to go straight to the vet’s office. I figured he’d like to be there to pick her up too, considering that she is his dog.
But that’s not all! Oh no! I have a doctor appointment/NST this morning too! It’s at 10, which means I need to leave here in about 45 minutes. Extra time is needed to drop Liam with Kile since a 20 month old is not a good accessory to a NST. Plus, I get to get checked for dilation today! WEE! I probably will have the Group B Strep swab today too. So you know, there’s THAT to look forward to. I need to remember to ask my doctor about getting my thyroid prescription refilled since I’ve forgotten each and every other visit I’ve gone to. I also want to ask again about birth control stuff. I hope I remember. My mind tends to emtpy out when I get in there. Does anyone else do that? Or is it just me?
So there you have it. I have to leave the house, not once, but TWICE today. And that makes today a Day of Much Happening. (While we’re at it: How pathetic AM I??)
