Daylight Savings What?

by Marilyn on March 9, 2008

I promised this whole “Spring Forward” thing wasn’t going to kick me in the butt this year, but… kick me in the butt it did.  In fact, I thought I was all “on it” last night by setting my watch one hour ahead.  Then I woke up this morning and found out that I had indeed set it for (drumroll please) the exact same time.  That takes serious effort, folks.  I swear I wasn’t drinking last night either.  Just tired.  And in pain.  Did I mention I was tired?  And in pain?

So here it is, twenty after nine and we’re in our pajamas, watching a dorky teen comedy on one of the premium movie channels (no, I don’t know which one) and I’m pretty sure we’re not going to make it to church this morning.  Besides, we haven’t seen hide nor hair of Harry yet this morning.  Of course, he stayed up last night to watch an entirely inappropriate movie with us (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, fyi) and since he requires AT LEAST twelve hours of sleep, I don’t expect to see him for another couple of hours at least. I cannot wait until he’s a teenager.

Sometime today I’m hoping we’ll get the van cleaned out.  Perhaps we’ll even start taping off the nursery for painting.  I’m certainly not planning to go anywhere today, after my spectacular display of overdoing it yesterday. I see no reason why those two things and perhaps many more little items can’t be accomplished today.  Shoot, the government may have stolen my hour, but they will not take my freedom!

Ahem.

So how are you dealing with the time change?  Better than I am, I hope?

I hate the time change! It screws up my lovely daughter’s time clock and she gets kinda cranky. It doesn’t bother me too much, except I don’t see the point personally. Now when I was little, oh the time change it was NOT my friend. Through me all out of wack.

This time change STINKS! I would love to personally smack whoever came up with it. Good luck. I love your blog. You and Evie are in my thoughts and prayers.
