This Saturday finds me a little nervous. After all, it’s 48 hours until I’m on my own with two kids under two. One of those two kids being a “hold-me” baby and the other being a mischievous little imp. Pray for me. In the mean time, how about we distract ourselves with some awesome blog posts from this past week? If you haven’t read this posts yet, you need to read them now because they are THAT GOOD. I wouldn’t share them otherwise.
- I tried to make me go to rehab, I said no, no, n-well,… from SchnozzFest 2.0. Wow. Just… wow. I have to admit, that while reading this I felt that niggling little feeling that I too have a problem with internet addiction. And maybe I need to do something about it. Will I ever quit blogging? Oh heck no. But maybe some controls are in order?
- I’m still on a break, but because you asked… from Kerflop. And on a related note… I’m sorry to see Kerflop having to take a step back but I definitely understand her need to do so and want to support her in that. You gotta do what you gotta do.
- Make It Snappy from Dad Gone Mad. This is the sort of goofy, silly, funny story that we can count on hearing from Danny now and then. I love the thought of a father/son underwear snapping fight. I love even more the notion of a huffy little girl getting “hers” too.
- Pickle Me This from Her Bad Mother. This is so random and silly that it’s ABSURD. Had she posted this on April 1st, I would have said it’s an April Fool’s joke. Do they seriously expect people to give their babies “Crunch” as a middle name?
- You Tell Me. from amalah . com. It’s a…. baby. Those early ultrasound pictures can drive the best of us clinically insane. For the record my guess is… too early to tell. Aww, shucks.
- Who Do You Trust? from A Mommy Story. Okay, count me a little jealous that I didn’t get an invite to BabyCamp. I’ve enjoyed the trip recaps that I’ve read and here, she talks about marketers and mom’s trusting the opinions of other mom’s. And I do think that an overwhelming majority of us would trust one another more than a corporation. Am I right?
- The Perverse Appeal of LOST from defective yeti. This post made me howl with laughter. Because it’s SO TRUE. And I definitely agree, even knowing that jerking my chain is part of the formula, I still love it and line up for every episode. Never has having my chain jerked been so much fun.
- Baby Boom –> Gen X: Squeezed Out? <– Gen Y from MOMocrats. I never gave it much thought before, but I think she’s right. I do sometimes worry that our generation is being taken for granted, perhaps even misjudged.
- King from Jonniker. This post freaked me out. I felt the creeping sense of evil right along with her. Sounds almost like a scene from a horror movie or something.
- The Facts (for Some People) from Swistle. Is there a more perfect post that sums up the parenting experience than this one? NO THERE IS NOT. Should be required reading for all new mothers, included with discharge papers from the hospital.
- No Regrets from Lag Liv. Don’t all of us ask ourselves at some point, if we should have waited to have kids? Or at least remember (rather fondly) what it was like to be child-free? Still, those moments aside, we know we have no regrets for how things have turned out. Shoot, look at that face, how could we?
- Brutally Honest Monday #1 from Mrs. Flinger. I love the idea of this feature. I love it so much that I may participate in it in the future. Can you imagine, being able to ask if those pants make your butt look big and getting an honest answer for a change?
It’s Saturday, ya’ll! That means you need to get out and enjoy the (hopefully) Spring-like weather. I don’t know what I’ll be doing today, but I imagine I’ll be spending a great deal of it nursing a needy little baby. But hopefully you’ll be spending it reading some really quality posts, courtesy of me. Have a good one, everyone.
