Greetings from Elko! It’s wedding headquarters here for the moment (my oldest niece is getting married tonight) and we’re doing our best to stay out of the way this morning. No better time to work on my weekly links roundup, right? I don’t know how thorough this list is, my feedreader is quite backed up with unread posts and it was quite a hectic week around these parts. But, nevertheless, here is my list. And, as always, it is fabulous.
- The Boy Whose Name I Can’t Even Remember from Playgroups are No Place For Children. All the talk lately of dry-drowning has me scared. And this story, well, it just haunts me. How sad and scary for such a little girl to go through. How awful for that family. It’s good to remember right now some of the basics of pool safety. Better safe than sorry.
- Snap from Her Bad Mother. I know a little how HBM must feel. I can honestly say that I’ve definitely had those moments where I am sure that I have no idea how I will move forward. But I always do, somehow. I hope she’s able to move forward and find a groove soon.
- Let’s See…There Was Something I Was Supposed To Tell You from amalah . com. Wow, color me surprised that she’s having another boy! But I’m excited too, because I know boys are so fabulous. Having two boys is truly a blessing. Brothers are wonderful and Noah is going to be fabulous, I just know it.
- The Funny Thing about Jalapenos from The Anvil Tree. HA! I love it! Yes, jalapenos would do that, wouldn’t they? And darn the Pioneer Woman for inspiring all of us to make such fabulous things to eat all the time. I wonder what the statistics are on diet failure vs. her fabulous recipes.
- Introducing …. from moxygen. Babies! Times THREE! I thought when she hadn’t posted in a while that maybe she had the babies and I was RIGHT (I love it when that happens). Congratulations to you all and now you have FIVE GIRLS. I can’t even wrap my mind around that.
- Apparently five home pregnancy tests CAN be wrong! from Parental Discretion Advised. O. M. G!!! I thought, maybe? Then I thought, naw… then I thought, YES and then I thought, no, impossible. Wow.
- The final countdown from talpidae’s diary. Yay for Shawna (and family)! Everyone is having babies these days, aren’t they? I already got the email update from her regarding Biscuit’s birth and I’m not ashamed to say that he’s absolutely adorable. Can’t wait for the follow-up post!
- Blog Tip Sharing Project 2: Writing Tips from Playgroups are No Place For Children. Yep, another one from Jennifer! (She was ON this week!) I’m loving this series from her and this post was great. All her writing tips were right on. I try to follow them as best I can and catch myself when I’m not.
- During which we discuss a happy ending from LOST A SOCK. I am SO glad that there was some sort of ending for her, even if it wasn’t the happy ending she was hoping for. And I love the image of her driving by and checking out the new family.
Well, that’s it. I have to go “catch” a baby (Kile has her in the shower with him) and do something to keep Liam occupied while I’m doing that. WHEW. Why didn’t someone remind me there is so much drama associated with weddings? It’s crazy, ya’ll! I’m looking forward to some good partying later on, believe you me! Have a great weekend, everyone.
