It’s been a weird week around here. Kinda busy, kinda stressful, kinda good all at the same time. Talk about confusing. I’m confused, I don’t know about you.
The list is a little late this week because the last 24 hours have been a wee bit hectic. I apologize. Without further ado…
- Fear. And Peeing. But Mostly, Fear and Remind Me to Tell You About the Greatest “Hmmmm…” Comment in the History of This Blog from Joy Unexpected. The first post of hers put fear in my heart too. Sure, there was a chuckle or two over her orange jug of pee (I think I would about die). But this was all tempered with a voice in my heart saying, “Please, God, NO. Let it be NO.” So the second post came as a great, fabulous relief. YAY for Y! I’m still hoping there are answers, but I’m desperately happy that the “C” word isn’t one of them.
- Memento Mori from glow in the woods. Great post. From one of the great ladies over at that site. It made me think, that’s for sure. It made me think of what I have of Jackson around here. I have quite a bit. I miss wearing the bracelet I had (I took it off because a link broke). It was a part of him I felt I could carry around with me every day.
- The Battle for the Hearts & Armpits of America from amalah . com. I literally laughed out loud. I have to admit, Degree got the drop on Secret there. And for what it’s worth, I’m tempted to purchase Degree now when I go shopping tomorrow. How suggestible can a person be, I ask you??
- Reach from No Pasa Nada. An awesome pre-BlogHer post. And considering my big topic at the conference this year is “introversion”, this is also extremely topical to me! So if you’re going and you’re feeling a little uptight about it, go read this. Heather B is the bomb, yo.
- Last Night in Dublin from Dispatches from the Island. There’s something I just love about the image of Jorge Garcia sitting in a chair in a dark hallway with his laptop. Can you imagine running into that coming off the elevator? I’d be all like, “ZOMG, I’m on the Island!”
- Annual Birthday Party Dilemma from Swistle. I’m glad I’m not the only one who gets weird about kids birthday parties. And for some reason it’s become this big THING. And every year has to be an even bigger THING. GAH. Can’t we just have birthday cake and presents and call it a day?
- It’s a damn good thing I don’t wear mascara from Sarcastic Mom. Having been there, I know just what she means here. Bitterness is rather hard to avoid. Contentedness is too easy to avoid. I hope she finds what she needs. I hope everyone does.
- RT: PSA #36 from Rooster Teeth News. Even if you aren’t a fan of Red vs. Blue, or even if you don’t know what Red vs. Blue is in the first place, if you’ve spent any time on forums, you should check this out. FUNNY. And funny is good.
- Californians from GraphJam. Who doesn’t love GraphJam? Another astute graph from our favorite graph site. And this one? SO TRUE. This is coming from a former California Native, so you can trust me here.
- Summer Stay-cation from The Queen of Shake-Shake. Shoot, who can afford to go anywhere? Gas, groceries and everything else… forget it! I feel you, sister. It sucks. And I am so THERE.
- I like to be alone. (translation: I am oh-so-screwed.) from Sarcastic Mom. Yeah, just because you have kids doesn’t mean that you don’t like some “me” time now and then. And “me” time is few and far between. Dangit.
- She’s Here! from metalia. Yay for Metalia! I was happy to see this announcement. Can’t wait to hear more when she’s feeling up to it! Stop by and give her your congratulations!
Hey, it’s a little longer list week! And some great variety there too. I feel pretty happy with myself, if I do say so… myself. Okay, that was awkward.
What to look forward to: pictures of my new ‘do (I’m still getting used to it, myself), reports from my weekend that include a humorous anectdoate or two as well as a milestone or two. It’s all fun, all the time around here! Woo!
