Graaaaah. I slept awful last night. And it had nothing to do with neighbors setting off fireworks into the wee hours (they didn’t) and more to do with some really freaking bizaare dreams and a little baby kicking my ass all night long. Like, as in LITERALLY kicking me. She may find herself in the crib sooner than we thought. ANYHOW. The show must go on, right? So here I am, sharing my favorite picks from this last week.
- I am going to BlogHer. And part of me is not happy about it from Greeblemonkey. I’m glad she’s going. I think everyone who wants to go should go. I’m hoping for an awesome. (mostly) drama-free weekend. (As are we all!)
- Hump Day! This is me humping your Internet leg! from Playgroups are No Place For Children. Ahh, I love Jennifer. And I love me a good link-post. How else are we going to find out about all the fabulous blogs we aren’t already reading? And, no surprise, she has some awesome picks. Look for this (awesome) feature on Wednesdays!
- Operating Without a License from Flotsam. Yes, we’ve all been there. Welcome to motherhood, Alexa! She takes one of those mommy moments and made me laugh, so she has that going for her for sure. Don’t feel too bad, we’ve all been there.
- coming up for air from hilarities ensue. Another big, fat YAY for Lizzy and her family. And I always love a good birth story, especially when they turn out as wonderful as this one did. Congrats and welcome baby Clara!
- Wii’s kinda snarky. I’s snarky right back.from moosh in indy. I had to laugh at Casey’s rundown of the Wii Fit. I somehw love the notion of a video game and video game system that makes judgement calls like this: unapologetically.
- My heart’s beating like a rabbit from dooce. Yep, Heather has joined the dark side and gotten a Wii and (speak of the devil) Wii Fit. And damned if I still just really want a Wii Fit. (My time is coming, I promise you!) But this is momentous in that it is the first time dooce has hosted a giveaway on her blog. And I think her server had a heart attack from the strain of it!
- One Year Ago from Rhi in Pink. Good for you, Rhi dear. This is a happy story if there ever was one. I would say “happy ending” but it’s just the beginning. I see great happiness in your future.
- An Open Letter To MommyBloggers from Queen of Spain Blog. As with pretty much always, Erin is a lot more eloquent than I am. It’s not about nice and mean as much it is about staying a community. While I approach it from less of a PR perspective, the feeling is the same. Let’s kiss and make up shall we?
So that’s it. Drama and BlogHer and a good dose of Wii thrown in for good measure. What’s not to love?
I hope everyone had a great 4th of July (if you live in The States, that is) and is well on their way to having a great weekend too. I plan to continue on towards my goal of doing a whole lotta nothing. So far, so good.
