The cold, she worsens.

The baby, she clings.

The toddler, he’s two.

(And you out there who have had two year old toddlers know what that means.)

And I?  I want to crawl in a hole and pull it in after me.  I would prefer this hole to be located in the vincinity of my bed.  And I would prefer there NOT to be a pint-sized princess in there with me FOR A CHANGE.

(She may be a princess but she can screech like no one’s business these days.)

I wonder when the next “day off” is and I realize there is no such thing.  Like, EVER.  Lest you think I’m entirely cold-hearted, I do love my children.  But that doesn’t mean I don’t love, nay, NEED a day off here and there.  But days off just don’t happen when you’re hanging by yourself, no friends, no family and with three children.  I have been trying to soak up the evenings when Liam and Evie have gone down to sleep and I get a little alone time with Kile, but lately Evie has been so danged clingy that she won’t let me be more than 10 paces away from her at any given time.  Day OR night.

I am just worn the heck out.

Good thing the weekend is nearly here, huh?  Just in time.

ugh…being sick with babies and toddlers is miserable!
You do need a day off! But if thats not in the near future…my suggestion…hide in the shower (hot water on full blast) and pretend your at a spaaaaaahhh.

    good luck…

all mommies need time off, so don’t feel guilty a bit – and you’re sick, too! As for clingy, I hear ya. My daughter was so clingy that NO ONE could take care of her but me. I had to carry her around with me everywhere in the sling, even to the bathroom. yikes. I won’t even tell you how my then-husband and I had to be, uh, “intimate” :) Funny, now at 13 she is more than happy to not have me around
