There was virtually NO response (except for Casey, thanks Casey!) to the WordPress Bootcamp last week so I have no idea what you guys are interested in hearing about this week (or if you’re even interested at all, for that matter).  So in lieu of that, I won’t be doing a WordPress Bootcamp this week.  See, I’m sure you’re all just HEARTBROKEN, aren’t you?  (*crickets chirp*)

I didn’t even get a lot of response on my review blog when giving away yogurt (YOGURT, people!  Nectar of the gods!) this last weekend.  And I don’t want to hear any “But it was a holiday weekend,” nonsense either.

I feel I must point out that I’m being goofy here.  I don’t really care if anyone entered my yogurt giveaway (thanks to the THREE people who did, though) or if you think my WordPress Bootcamp is a waste of internet space (is there finite internet space?  Something I’ve always wondered…).  It is what it is.  I myself have been rather distracted the last couple of days.  I’ve got about a billion things spinning around in my head and I have the distinct impression that I’m dropping balls right and left.  I know I’m forgetting things that I should be remembering.  But I can’t remember them long enough to, well, remember them.  I think my underactive thyroid is starting to attack my brain cells.

Also, I feel I should tell you that I’m now drinking the kool-aid:

Drinking the Kool-Aid

As you can see, I’m not terribly far into it yet.  I only have time to read about a chapter a day, and that’s just on weekdays because there is ZERO time for reading on weekends (at least this last weekend, which was uber-busy).  And so far I sorta want to punch Bella in the face.  Actually, scratch that, I REALLY want to punch Bella in the face.  And I think I want to punch Stephenie Meyer in the face too.  So I’m hoping it gets better.  Because I’m finding I’m constantly distracted from the story by wanting to punch people.  Is that normal?  Tell me it gets better!

You’ve seen this “meme” that has been going around where bloggers expound on things that they believe are the “tits”.  I know you have.  I have.  And on more than one blog.  And since I’m a nerdy follower, I’m going to give you all a little list of Things Marilyn Think Are The Tits.

  • Jack’s Big Music ShowAwesome Snack
  • my new iPhone
  • toasted cinnamon raisin bagels with cream cheese
  • that new mayonnaise that has olive oil in it
  • Fall (as opposed to Summer)
  • Obama
  • Rockstar
  • did I mention the iPhone (how did I ever live without it?)
  • getting unexpected goodies in the mail
  • getting expected goodies in the mail
  • snuggling at night with Evie
  • rainy days
  • snowy days
  • Simply Apple
  • for that matter, Starbuck’s Caramel Apple Spice is pretty rockin’ too
  • my minivan

Whew.  I’m all “titsed” out for now.  I better go feed my children some breakfast before it becomes lunchtime.  (oops)  But tell me, what’s on your Tits List these days?

I’m very much loving your wordpress bootcamp! I’d like to know about ad revenue. At what point is it worth it to post ads on your blog?? I currently use the free service from wordpress, and I’d love to make some changes and have more control over the look of my blog, but I don’t want to pay a monthly fee for hosting and what not unless I can make that much back somehow. Balance. But I don’t think I get enough hits on my blog to make ads worth it. Does that make sense??

    With regards to Twilight…

the desire to punch people stuck with me through the first book and finally resolved itself about a hundred pages into the second, when I hurled it across the room with great force.

Then I felt really guilty because it was a library book.

I’m sorry, I’m just not that interested in WordPress – probably because I have no problem with Blogger right now and I can’t see spending the money to get a domain and get it hosted and then to have to redo everything. I know you can get wordpress blogs for free at wordpress.com, but I’d still have to have the wordpress.com at the end of it, much like the blogspot.com, so what’s the point of changing?

As for Twilight – OMG – I LOVE the series!! Seriously!

I’d love to leave you a nice long comment that includes my ‘tits’ list and why I may or may not need a tutorial on Wordpress but I’m too tired..I stayed up until 2 am last night reading New Moon. I’ll get back to you once Ive finished the series and get some sleep.

    ;)

My first official mention as a real live blogger, thanks! I did get a lot out of your Wordpress boot camps, thanks again for doing it.

I’m not really interested in the yogurt, I think it would spoil before it got all the way to FL but thanks.

Ditto on Jack’s Big Music Show. My husband and I often sit there and finish watching the episodes long after the kid has wandered away. Now that’s just sad.

I didn’t enter your yogurt thing because I didn’t think they’d ship it to Canada, or if it was a voucher that it would be accepted here. It wasn’t for lack of love! :)

I’ve only finished New Moon (and not the whole series), and I can tell you that while I moderately enjoy the books, I don’t Looooooooove them. And I kind of want to slap Bella some of the time too. I think that Brit and I talked about this once, about how Edward didn’t do it for us (who wants to kiss and snuggle a cold man with cold lips and hard skin? Seriously?) and so we weren’t as invested in it. The book snob in me is happy for Meyer’s success (I purchased Twilight as soon as it came out solely due to the pretty cover) but oh-so-very sick of all the hype. You can’t swing a dead cat without someone reading/loving/talking about the series. So good for Meyer, but I guess I prefer things that are a little lesser known (sometimes you just want the things you love to be a little more private). And my other beef with the general hype and love of this series? They stay in hardcover for YEARS before they hit paperback. I am a true library snob when I say I won’t buy books in a series that aren’t in the same format/cover style. Thus I’ve only read up to New Moon. I also don’t love them enough to pay hardcover prices for. Anyway.

And my tit list… Hmmm… Due to either an ear infection, sinus infection or teething (the kid, not me), life has been in the crapper the past two days. Not too many things are looking tit-er-ific. So, I will say that getting time to read/blog/email/Plurk is good, getting time to eat is good. Pioneer Woman’s cinnamon rolls. America’s Next Top Model is back on. Coffee, in any way shape or form. And sleep – preferably uninterrupted.

Well, I must be living in a bomb shelter or something because I am unaware of these books. I hope that doesn’t put a big L on my forehead.

I don’t have a blog, so I don’t need an edumacation in wordpress. Sorry. Once again, big L on my forehead.

My tits list… I assume that’s things I like ALOT… I bought some Simply Lemonade at the store today and it is GOOD. What else? My curvy jeans from the Gap (finally jeans that FIT!), flannel pants, warm brownies with vanilla ice cream, my kitchenaid mixer and caramel machiatos from Starbucks (yep, probably spelled it wrong, but they’re good anyway).

Oh DON’T QUIT! I was reading and following — I promise! I just haven’t posted. I wanna do this! (I also wanna cast “magick missile” but that’s a different post).

nonononono….don’t give up. You can personally smack me upside the head because honestly I have been outta town for Labor Day and then immersed in the the work mire and my bf has been hogging the ‘puter doofus.

So girrlie, keep going. I don’t get much — ok, I don’t get ANY hits on my blog — to warrant ads, but the Leo in me wants to say I have my own domain, ‘k? Ads, Schmads….if it makes me some $$ imma do it.

Hey and you can be my SECOND comment LOL if you go read my pathetic blog. :)

    lurves ya silly woman
