Yep, it’s that time of year again, folks. That time when bloggers tear their hair out, trying to come up with something to post every single day for the entire month of November. I (foolishly?) felt confident, because I’ve been posting every day without fail for the last couple of months. PIece of cake, right?
Well here we stand, on Day 1 of NaBloPoMo (which stands, in case you’re wondering, for National Blog Posting Month) and it’s after 4 in the afternoon and I haven’t posted a darned thing. FOR SHAME.
It’s been a busy morning and afternoon, which is my excuse. We didn’t do our grocery shopping yesterday, instead chosing to go to Whole Foods and Sam’s Club instead. So that meant we had to do grocery shopping today. But first, we needed to go to Kohl’s because they were having an EVIL sale, complete with Early Bird specials if you shopped before 1pm. So we picked up some (matching) (aww!) outfits for the kids to wear tomorrow when we get their pictures taken (Sears Portrait Studio: Take 2! I’ll let you know how it goes). I think it’s safe to say that by the time we hit Walmart, we were already pooped.
And apparently, not only is November 1st the Official Start to the Holiday Season (complete with holiday decorations and MUSIC) (OMG, I’m not even kidding), but apparently it’s doubling as Black Friday too. If the Early BIrd sale at Kohl’s didn’t tip me off, then the oodles of people clogging the aisles at Walmart sure did. WHAT THE HECK, PEOPLE?? Let’s at least get the election out of the way and eat a couple pounds of Halloween candy before we get into the Christmas stuff, OKAY? Holy crap.
Our collective faith in humanity was not bolstered by this particular shopping trip.
Though there were those nice people in the line next to us at checkout who felt bad for us and one of them even went to get us an extra cart when it became apparent that our bagged groceries weren’t going to fit in the cart we had. (I have mentioned that our monthly shopping trips are Out of Control, haven’t I?) So this meant that we had THREE carts we pushed out to the car: one containing Evie in her carseat in the basket and Liam in the seat and two baskets with bagged groceries, pushed by Kile and Harry. WHEW.
So I think you can forgive me for not posting earlier. And if you can’t… well… I don’t know what to tell ya. Except maybe to get used to it because that’s how things roll around here.
Peace out!

Gawd, I’m with you. I *despise* the holidays. I’m such a Grinch, honestly. And guess what? There is a local radio station around here that completely altered its format on OCTOBER 1…to 24/7 holiday music. Ack! Ew. Yuck. I don’t like Christmas music unless its December 24 or 25, and even then not that much.
argh

Ooh, I’m excited you’re doing it, too!
Now if they would only fix the “Add as a Friend” feature, we could have a helluva network set up!
I’m doing NaBloPoMo too. I hear you on the holiday thing. We were in Circuit City and Harris Teeter today and the decorations are out & the music is on! Safeway was packing up the Halloween candy on the 29th to make way for the ‘fall holiday’ decorated candy.
Sheesh!
