I don’t know if you all hate these posts of mine that are full of photos or if you like them. I guess it doesn’t matter because I’ll still post photos even if you all don’t like them. I like them. I think they give me a nice snapshot of what things are like around here at any specific given time. And I love being able to see how my photography skills (what skills?) (oh, hush you!) have progressed too. I’m always learning new things about taking pictures. Yes, even on my cruddy point and shoot.
All of these were developed in Adobe Lightroom, which is a fabulous, wonderful program that every picture-taker out there should have on their computer. These pictures never saw the light of Adobe Photoshop (though it remains my go-to program for “serious” edits).
I never get tired of this little face…
The sweetness just oozes off of her.
One more. I can’t take the cute!
Kile’s rad new hat. Made by ME.
It’s been so cold that the snow that fell was rather powdery and any little breeze could blow these little ripples in it. Very cool.
Isn’t it funny how snow an make even a stupid weed look cool?
The mountain looks awesome after it’s snowed.
Reaching out for the camera… she’s obsessed with it now!
It got to like TWO DEGREES last night and was NINE this morning so the sun came up and the fog came out.
Call me crazy, but I think fog is pretty awesome. You know, when you don’t have to drive in it.
Fog makes everything look so insubstantial. I think that’s why I like it so much.
Nothing looks quite so harsh when it’s obscured by fog. Even a Wednesday morning.
This is what happens when it’s so cold and it’s foggy. The fog turns to icy particles and sticks to stuff, like this wee tree.
It’s called “pogonip”, which is a funny word, don’t you think? It’s also very pretty.
These are some good, old-fashioned icicles though. Dripped onto our Russian Sage which is taking the winter off.
And you know I gotta close with another shot of the princess. She sacked out on my lap this morning and it was just too cute to believe.
Ahh. I feel much better now.
I got email from my dear friend Michelle last night that she sent to my friend and I. She was having a hard time sleeping and had thought up how we were six degrees of seperation away from Kevin Bacon. And not just once but TWICE. That, my friends, is pretty freakin’ awesome. I’ve always wanted to play this little game but… meh. It seemed like a lot of work and brain power and I really feel like doing or having either of those things. But thanks to Michelle, I don’t have to. So here’s the first run-down:
- We are friends with Angela, whom we have known since high school. Lurves Angela!
- Angela met Sean Astin (she got his book signed and a picture taken with him for her Christmas card that year.)
- He was in the “Lord of the Rings” movies with Cate Blanchet
- She is in that new movie with Brad Pitt (“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, fyi Michelle)
- Brad Pitt was in “Interview with a Vampire” with Tom Cruise
- Tom Cruise was in “A Few Good Men” with… Kevin Bacon.
Dang but that’s fun. But that’s not all! Here’s another one:
- We were taught by Ms. Ray in high school (she was my favorite teacher!)
- Ms. Ray’s cousin (maybe 2nd cousin) was married to Tom Selleck (I remember when she called him Cousin Tom and was very impressed) (I was too, Michelle)
- Tom Selleck was on “Friends” with Courtney Cox (He was “Richard”, remember?? I loved the scene where he and Ross were waiting impatiently for Monica and Rachel to fight over the last remaining condom in the apartment)
- Courtney Cox was in the “Scream” movies with Neve Campbell
Neve Campbell was in “Wild Things” (Naaaaaasty movie) with… Kevin Bacon.
So tell me. How are you seperated from Kevin Bacon? Do you have the brain-power to do one of these? If so, you gotta share with the class.
