This is one of those days that people will ask “do you remember where you were when…?” And oh yes, I remember. I’m very sad today, when I remember the range of emotions that I went through 8 years ago. Sad that so much changed that day. And at 5PM, when they play the National Anthem here on base, I’m going outside to listen to it and say a little prayer for the families of all those killed on that day. And for the families of the people in the military who are deployed, that they all come home safely.

It has been eight years since two planes flew into to the towers of the World Trade Center in New York City and the world as we knew it changed forever. This is so true.

I’m right there with you. I burst into tears this morning when I checked my email and a friend had sent out a tribute she created just after the attacks.
On the way to work, it felt surreal because no one was talking about it on the radio and yet it was all I could think about.
Then I got to work and the flag was flying at half-staff. I was glad I wasn’t the only one who remembered but I almost burst into tears again!
