It’s the last day of vacation.  I’m both excited for this and dreading it.  Excited because Harry will go back to school, and Kile will go back to work and I will be able to get the kids back on their routines.  Dreading because of the long, lonely days with no one to talk to and the knowledge that getting the kids back on their routines is going to be akin to pulling teeth.

We ventured out to Legends today, because Kile has been wanting new shoes for EVER now and Sketchers was having an awesome sale.  We could have stayed home and dismantled the Christmas decorations but how predictable would THAT be?

We got the shoes, thank GOD and now we don’t have to worry about that anymore and I’m way psyched because this means we never have to stop at Big 5 AGAIN while Kile runs in to check for shoes.  You know, for at least 6 months until he decides he needs another pair.

(My husband is a “shoe person”, which I am NOT, so I tease him whenever I can about it.  I’m fine with bargain basement shoes and since I only ever really wear boots or flip flops, this works well for me.)

Meanwhile, I’m finishing up some booties for a client and I’m seriously considering calling these “Nemesis Booties”.  Otherwise known as: The Booties That Caused Me To Punch A Hole In My Index Finger THREE Times (So Far).   She wanted newborn booties done on this yarn specifically.  Unfortunately, there are pretty much NO newborn booties patterns for yarn this thick.  So I sized down the needle which = pain.  And not just because of the punching holes in the fingers (though I assure you, that feels as good as it sounds).  I’m halfway done with the second one at which point I shall be glad to enforce a lifelong ban on Marr Haven yarn.  Amen and Hallelujah.

I certainly can “feel your pain”, knitting baby booties with our worsted wt. but what a compliment to you from your customer. I hope you don’t really put a lifelong ban on us.

Your yarn is lovely… this was just my sore fingers talking. Now that I’m finished with the booties, I don’t feel near as venomous as I did. I don’t think I could put a lifelong ban down… your yarn is far too popular! :)
