Looking through my Camera Roll on the iPhone the other day, I was surprised by the pictures I had taken but had forgotten about. Does anyone else do that? Or is it just my own brain that is slowly (quickly?) turning to mush? Anyhow, I thought I’d rescue them and do a little photo post. I love doing photo posts. I love pictures anyhow and it makes for a an easy and interesting post. Well. Interesting to ME, at least.
Taken on Christmas Eve when we went to dinner at Mimi’s. Evie’s rocking her headband and bow and the gal at the table behind us STILL freaks me out a month later.
Evie chills at her 6 month pediatrician appointment. Girl loves that tissue on the table. (Am I the only one who wants to nom on her legs?)
I think this was January 2nd and the last time we had any sort of inclement weather. SIGH. I sorta miss it.
She has a tendancy to sleep with her eyes open. FREAKS ME OUT.
You’d think she’d be happier to be hanging out at Whole Foods, wouldn’t you?
The sun sets over Target. I love Nevada sunsets.
My current work in progress. The colors are a little wonky here (more blue and the waist is dark gray) but am VERY pleased with how these are turning out as I’m using a new and more complicated pattern.
Okay, every week the site that I love to buy cloth diapers off of has a photo contest. And most weeks, the contest involves a specific diaper. Since I only have a handful of diapers, it’s pretty rare that I have the diaper in question. This week? I DO! The idea here is to take a picture of your child with or in the diaper being featured and submit it. That following week, submitted photos are featured on the different pages of the site. The winning photo is featured on the front page and the winner recieves a FREE DIAPER.
Now, I never really expect to actually win the contest as my photography skillz are mediocre at best. BUT I would like to be featured on the site someday.
This week, the diaper is called “1981“, since it’s cheery little rainbows evoke images of the early 80’s. It’s a pretty diaper and Evie rocks it. I took a monster amount of pictures of her with and in the diaper this afternoon but now I can’t pick which one to submit to the contest. I have until 12:00am MST tonight to submit.
So in the meantime, I need ya’ll to help me pick. Which one is your favorite? Leave a comment below and you’ll have my eternal gratitude!
I don’t know if you all hate these posts of mine that are full of photos or if you like them. I guess it doesn’t matter because I’ll still post photos even if you all don’t like them. I like them. I think they give me a nice snapshot of what things are like around here at any specific given time. And I love being able to see how my photography skills (what skills?) (oh, hush you!) have progressed too. I’m always learning new things about taking pictures. Yes, even on my cruddy point and shoot.
All of these were developed in Adobe Lightroom, which is a fabulous, wonderful program that every picture-taker out there should have on their computer. These pictures never saw the light of Adobe Photoshop (though it remains my go-to program for “serious” edits).
I never get tired of this little face…
The sweetness just oozes off of her.
One more. I can’t take the cute!
Kile’s rad new hat. Made by ME.
It’s been so cold that the snow that fell was rather powdery and any little breeze could blow these little ripples in it. Very cool.
Isn’t it funny how snow an make even a stupid weed look cool?
The mountain looks awesome after it’s snowed.
Reaching out for the camera… she’s obsessed with it now!
It got to like TWO DEGREES last night and was NINE this morning so the sun came up and the fog came out.
Call me crazy, but I think fog is pretty awesome. You know, when you don’t have to drive in it.
Fog makes everything look so insubstantial. I think that’s why I like it so much.
Nothing looks quite so harsh when it’s obscured by fog. Even a Wednesday morning.
This is what happens when it’s so cold and it’s foggy. The fog turns to icy particles and sticks to stuff, like this wee tree.
It’s called “pogonip”, which is a funny word, don’t you think? It’s also very pretty.
These are some good, old-fashioned icicles though. Dripped onto our Russian Sage which is taking the winter off.
And you know I gotta close with another shot of the princess. She sacked out on my lap this morning and it was just too cute to believe.
Ahh. I feel much better now.
