The tides have turned, ya’ll! I used to be the one who never won anything. I know I’ve talked about it on this here blog at least more than once. BUT, it would appear lately that my good fortune just keeps rolling in. All I can say about this is.. I feel very fortunate. And you know what happens after you feel fortunate? You want to share it with the world. Because you know what it feels like to be “on the outs”. And you want others to feel what it’s like to have such good fortune.
And maybe, just maybe, you don’t really need the windfall that fell in your lap in the first place. Heh.
Such a wonderful has happened to me today. I found out from the Parent Bloggers Network (of which myself and my review blog are members) (btw, keep an eye on my review blog next week for a fantastic GIVEAWAY!) that I have won a free registration for the BlogHer ‘08 Conference, to be held in San Francisco, CA this July 18-20. Which is, as you know, a fabulous prize worth about $350. I don’t know about you all, but I don’t have that kind of money laying around on a day to day basis. Now BlogHer? Is totally worth it. But still. It’s a lot of money, especially if you’re staying at home, like I am.
As fabulous a prize as this is, I already have my registration. Since I’m speaking, BlogHer is covering my conference registration costs. So you know what this means?
I’m GIVING IT AWAY!

Oh yes, friends. I’m giving away one, fabulous conference registration to BlogHer ‘08. Two full, fabulous days of fantastic sessions, speakers and discussions, two fabulous cocktail parties and one un-conference if your heart so desires. ALL OF IT CAN BE YOURS.
All you have to do is leave a comment here telling me what session you are looking forward to going to the most of all, should you win this fabulous prize. If you can’t narrow it down to just one (I’m sure I couldn’t!), then feel free to list your top picks. You have until midnight (PDT) on Wednesday, June 4th to enter. After that, comments will be closed and I’ll be selecting a winner at random! The winner will be announced in that Thursday’s post.
Sound like a good deal? Well then put your thinking caps on and get commenting! And feel free to spread the word. I’m going KRAZEE, people! Get in while the getting is good!

You know what this means, right? It’s De-Lurking Day and that means it’s time to step out from behind that potted plant over there (yes, I SEE YOU) and leave a comment. That goes double for me. I’ve always been a poor commenter. I’m infamous for reading a blog for months on end and never commenting and then I wonder why the author doesn’t know who the heck I am. Uhm, hello? It’s become worse since Google Reader entered my life. Now it’s even EASIER to not comment on my favorite blogs!
But today, I’m going to change all that. I’m going to go out there and comment and fill the blog world with my grains of wisdom, pith and support. And I’d like to encourage all of you (all five of you) to do the same. Not just here (though some comments here would be LOVELY because each and every one of them totally makes my day. SERIOUSLY), but everywhere you read. Spread the love! Share yourself! Let the comment love begin!
Zoot had a great idea over on her blog, giving her faithful commenters something to comment about (it’s helpful, no?). So I’ve been trying to wrack my brain, to think of a good conversation starter. It’s not as easy as it sounds. So here goes: Do you think it’s strange in the slightest that I had a dream about “The Office” last night? And not like I was IN “The Office”, but more like I was just watching it. And it was all about Pam and Jim getting it on. Does this mean I’m watching too much television? Or can I blame it on the pregnancy hormones?
Also (before I go off and comment myself into a stupor): I downgraded my blog to WordPress version 2.2.3 for now. It fixes the errors that were popping up everywhere and making me angry. However, my categories seem to have disappeared. Oh well, I guess I can’t have everything. But hopefully you would-be commenters won’t get any errors and that’s the important thing.

Once upon a time, there was De-Lurking Day. Then, last year, there was De-Lurking Week. The week continues this year, this week, to be exact. I don’t know if I have many lurkers. I don’t even think I have many readers, to be frank. But that’s all good. If you have ever lurked here, you need to comment. If you are a regular reader who never comments, leave a comment. If you’re just stopping on by on your way here from another site, why don’t ya give me some love? If you read and comment here often, you should still shout out, “what’s up, sistah?” So yeah. Please leave me a comment. I need some love today. It’s been a rough one (long winded whiny post to follow).
While I’m not able to donate to charity for each comment like these totally awesome babes are, it will brighten my inbox and cause me to smile. Is that a good enough reason? (Seriously, go visit those gals, leave comments and go to bed tonight confident that you are bettering the world through their donations and know that all you had to do to achieve that is comment on their blogs. Hot damn!)
Doh, I almost forgot: 451Press is having a contest that ties into this whole “de-lurking” thing.? From now until January 31st, if you post on any blog in the 451Press network, you will be entered to win $100 or even $500.? Just for leaving a comment!? Good deal, huh?
